Students mourn teens death

Instead of celebrating the end of the school year and the start of summer vacation, students at Glebe Collegiate are mourning the death of a classmate.
Fifteen-year-old Hay Mu Tha Kyu was swimming with friends on Saturday in Charleston Lake when he jumped off of Indian Head cliff with three friends, but he didn’t surface.
Ontario Provincial Police dive teams recovered his body Monday.
The teens were reportedly using the buddy system, and there was an adult on hand.
Swimmers have been jumping off of Indian Head for generations, but this time something went wrong.
Known by his friends as Hay, the teen was well-liked and seemed to be good at everything, basketball, volleyball, math and art.
Yoo was born in a camp for Burmese refugees in Northern Thailand, and came to Canada when he was 11-years-old.
He knew little english, but quickly adapted to life here.
