Contract talks between Canada Post and union break down

Contract talks have broken off between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.

It comes after a 72-hour bargaining session.

The Crown Corporation says the two sides are far apart on several issues, while the union says Canada Post has made no major moves.

The House of Commons was due to rise for its summer break today, but it appears M-Ps may sit through the weekend to pass back-to-work legislation to end the postal dispute.
