Greek Parliament must pass austerity package next week

Greece’s Finance Minister is to meet with a delegation of the country’s international creditors to discuss final changes to an austerity package that must be passed by parliament next week to avoid a default.
Evangelos Venizelos meets officials from the European Commission, International Monetary fund and European Central Bank in Athens Thursday.
Greece’s creditors, particularly its partners in the 17-country Eurozone, are demanding parliamentary approval for the budget cuts and new taxes in the austerity bill and an additional implementation law by the end of June.
Only then will they approve the disbursement of the next batch of loans, worth $17 billion, from Greece’s bailout loans needed to avoid bankruptcy in mid-July.
