Politicians may be delayed in leaving for summer break

Parliament is set to rise Thursday for the summer break, but the vacation for our politicians may be delayed.
The back to work legislation for postal workers is up for debate Thursday in the House of Commons.
Even though talks between Canada Post and the union have broken off, the NDP says it will do all that it can to fight against this bill.
The New Democrats have been pushing hard against this legislation, saying a labour deal shouldn’t be forced by the government, it needs to be worked out between both sides.
The party promises to use every strategy it can to delay the final vote but Government House Leader Peter Van Loan says the Conservatives are ready for the battle.
The back to work bill contains a number of controversial measures, like lower wage rates than what Canada Post is offering.
The Senate has also promised to extend its session until all government bills are passed.
