Canada Post workers will be walking their routes Tuesday as employees returned to their jobs Monday night to begin sorting the huge backlog of mail.
From bills, to Father’s Day cards, all the mail caught in the web of the job action, will be soon landing in your mailbox.
However, it will be a chilly return to work for those employees.
The mail bags will be heftier to deliver over the next few weeks as Canada Post ramps up to clear the backlog of mail that was caught in the postal system when Canada Post locked out it’s workers.
The mountains of mail will move, but the work will not bridge the bad mood between the two sides.
Canada Post locked out the workers after more than a week of rotating strikes.
It maintains it lost $100 Million during that job action.
Small business and charities are smiling as the mail system is the lifeblood to their business.
The back to work legislation means the federal government has 90 days to appoint a mediator in the dispute.
