Flooding threatens Slave Lake Alberta

First they battled a raging wildfire, now the residents of Slave Lake, Alberta are trying to protect the town from a flood.
However volunteers are staying positive, especially after a dry start to the weekend.
The Alberta government says the Sawridge Creek is dropping, although a high streamflow advisory remains in effect.
Many residents worked with town crews this weekend to shore up a dike on the creek.
Fire Chief Jamie Coutts says that after heavy rain Thursday and Friday, the community had a day to shore it up, and a call for volunteers drew a huge response.
Some five dozen residents have had their homes flooded so far.
The Red Cross has been helping them find accommodation and get supplies.
Slave Lake has been trying to rebuild since a May wildfire destroyed about a third of the town.
