Lansdowne Park battle could be far from over

A judge has issued his ruling but it’s not going to be the end to the court challenges over the Lansdowne Park redevelopment.
The Ontario Superior Court ruled Thursday that the city of Ottawa acted in good faith and did not break its own procurement law when it awarded the contract to one company rather than holding an open competitive bidding process.
A group of citizens called the Friends of Lansdowne launched the case against the city in June of last year.
There are three directions events could take.
The first is an appeal by Friends of Lansdowne. the group itself is reviewing the ruling and hasn’t made a decision but one of its members is trying to rally others continue the fight.
The next option comes from a separate citizens group called the Lansdowne Park Conservancy.
Earlier in the month it announced it would as for a judicial review of the city’s sole-sourcing of the project.
Late Thursday night it put out a news release saying it will be heading to court and the papers may be filed as early as Tuesday.
The final option is that these groups don’t argue the judge’s decision.
