Procession, viewing, funeral details: Jack Layton

OTTAWA, Ont. – The NDP released official information on the Toronto funeral for NDP Leader Jack Layton, ahead of the funeral in Toronto on Saturday.

A viewing for Layton will be held at Toronto City Hall on Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

On Saturday, the casket will make the one-kilometre procession from City Hall to Roy Thomson Hall with a mounted patrol. The exact route has not been released at this time.

The service is expected to last about one hour. Ed Broadbent has been announced as one of the pallbearers for the Toronto funeral.

A reception to celebrate the life of Jack Layton will follow.
