The leaders of the Provincial Tories and New Democrats have made their pre-election pitches to civic leaders at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference in London.
Tory leader Tim Hudak promised to honour the upload of 947 (m) million dollars in social service and court security costs if elected.
N-D-P leader Andrea Horwath committed to make producers responsible for the cost and safe disposal of hazardous materials.
Today, Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara takes over as president of the A-M-O, which represents most of Ontario’s 444 municipalities.
