With Monday being a holiday, there are several closures around the capital.
Here’s the rundown:
Client Services:
– Ottawa City Hall and all seven Client Service Centres will be closed.
– The city’s Provincial Offences Court will be closed.
Garbage and recycling:
There will be no curbside green bin, recycling, garbage or leaf and yard waste collection on Labour Day.
Labour Day pick-up will take place on Tuesday. The collection of garbage, green bin, leaf and yard waste and recycling materials will be delayed by one day for the week.
Transit service:
– OC Transpo will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Recreation services:
– Many pools, arenas and fitness centres will be open on Labour Day, but many registered classes are cancelled.
Cultural services:
– Most programming at arts centres, archives, galleries, theatres and museums will not be offered.
Municipal child care services:
– City-operated Child Care Centres will be closed.
Library services:
– All branches, departments and services of the Ottawa Public Library will be closed.
Malls:
– The Rideau Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. as well as shops in the Byward Market — but keep in mind major Ottawa malls will have their doors shut.
All grocery stores, beer stores and liquor stores will be closed on the Ontario side.
