The Lions string together back-to-back wins

TORONTO, ON (NEWS1130) – The BC Lions earned a 29-16 win over the Toronto Argonauts to improve to 3-6 for the season. Travis Lulay threw a touchdown pass and ran for another.
The Lions were coming off the mid-season break following a 35-point road win over Edmonton in week eight. Lulay’s five-yard run in the third quarter completed a nine-play, 68-yard drive that put BC ahead 20-6. Lulay was 25-of-36 passing for 309 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions.
Arland Bruce scored BC’s other touchdown. Paul McCallum added two converts and five field goals.
Toronto lost for the seventh time in eight games. The Argos also lost veteran tackle Rob Murphy to a knee injury in the opening half.
The Lions host the Argonauts on Saturday, September 10 to complete the home-and-home series. It will be the final football game at Empire Field.
