A fixture on Conroy Road will be gone, likely by Thanksgiving weekend.
The owner of Thunderbird Golf and Go Karts tells the Ottawa Citizen he has sold the five acre plot of land to a private group, and the track will close at the end of this season.
Tim Rivers sold the land to a group that plans on making an adult hockey community.
That is two ice pads aimed at the adult hockey market increasingly squeezed out of ice time by the minor hockey programs.
Eventually, the two ice rinks will have a fitness centre, a sports bar and a sports medicine clinic.
The ice pads are scheduled for a September opening next year.
