OTTAWA – There is just one full day left until Ontarians cast their ballots in the provincial election.
The latest polls show the Liberals are ahead, with the Progressive Conservatives and New Democrats not far behind.
According to Carleton University political scientist Jonathan Malloy, there are three including Ottawa West Nepean, with Liberal incumbent Bob Chiarelli and PC hopeful Randall Denley.
“If the Tories win, if Mr. Denley wins it, then that is very bad news for the Liberal Party and very good news for the Progressive Conservative Party, because in the past, whoever wins Ottawa West Nepean has also won the election,” he said. “That’s always been a very accurate riding.”
Malloy also said the race between Liberal Yasir Naqvi and New Democrat Anil Naidoo in Ottawa Centre is expected to be a tight one.
He added, a PC surge in Ottawa Orleans could also indicate a blue sweep in the province.
