PHILADELPHIA, PA. (NEWS1130) – The NHL will not hand out a suspension to Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Marc Methot for his hit from behind on Vancouver Canucks captain Henrik Sedin during yesterday’s 3-2 Vancouver win.
Sedin did not take part in practice this morning in Philadelphia where the Canucks continue their four-game road trip tomorrow night. The Canucks will not confirm that he injured his knee on the play. Henrik practiced off the ice today.
Forward Marco Sturm was also taking dry-land training and did not skate today. There is no word on why Sturm could not practice.
However, coach Alain Vigneault did confirm that Roberto Luongo will get the start Wednesday in Philadelphia after Cory Schneider played the entire game Monday. It is expected that Schneider will play Thursday in Detroit.
The Canucks announced that due to the baseball playoffs, the Detroit Red Wings have moved Thursday’s game in the Motor City to 5 p.m. from 4:30 p.m.
