Crown to seek dangerous offender status for carjacker

OTTAWA, On. — The crown is seeking dangerous offender status for the man found guilty of carjacking the widow of a slain Ottawa police constable.

Kevin Ransdell was found guilty Friday of the robbery and forcible confinement of Anna Korutowska.

The carjacking and robbery happened in the parking lot of a Metro at Bank and Hunt Club in June of 2010, just six months after Czapnik was killed outside the Ottawa Hospital’s Civic Campus.
