The Sens lose their 2nd straight

WASHINGTON – The Ottawa Senators lost their 2nd straight game, but this one had a silver lining. Milan Michalek tied the game in the 3rd period, as the Sens grabbed a point in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Capitals.
Michalek’s goal ties him for the league lead with 16 on the season (Phil Kessel and Steve Stamkos). Erik Karlsson was the other Ottawa goal scorer.
Former Senator Brooks Laich scored the OT winner for the Caps.
The Sens have played nine of their last ten games on the road and have finished that stretch with a 5-3-2 record.
The win snapped the Capitals four game losing skid, and was Dale Hunter’s first win as an NHL head coach.
Chris Neil played his first game since November 9th. He was out with a high ankle sprain.
Ottawa will return home to host the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night. The Sens will then face the Capitals again on Wednesday.
