Search for missing Quebec boy resumes Wednesday

UPTON, Que. – The search resumes at Wednesday for a six-year-old boy who fell through the ice of a river near Upton, Quebec, 80-kilometres east of Montreal.
A boot belonging to the unidentified victim was the only trace found by police before the search was suspended Tuesday evening.
The boy fell through the ice of the Riviere Noire on Monday while playing with his older brother and a friend.
The friend’s dog is also missing after falling through the ice.
Firefighters drilled holes in the ice yesterday so divers could search the frigid water.
People who live along the river are being asked to check the shoreline for any sign of the boy.
At the same time, residents are being advised not to get too close to the icy water to prevent further accidents.
