Build-A-Bear Workshop is recalling approximately 300,000 Colourful Hearts Teddy Bears sold in Canada and the United States because of a choking hazard, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Approximately 13,000 of the bears sold in Canada are subject to the recall. The commission says the bear’s eyes have the potential to come loose and fall out, posing a choking hazard to children.
No injuries have been reported in relation to the recall.
The Colourful Hearts Teddy Bear is about 40 centimetres tall with black plastic eyes, while the body is covered in multi-coloured hearts.
They were sold at Build-A-Bear Workshop locations and on the company’s website from April-December.
Anyone returning the Colourful Hearts Teddy Bear will be entitled to a coupon for any available stuffed animal.
