Ottawa passes first winter test

OTTAWA -Ottawa had plenty of warning for the cities first real winter blast Wednesday.

Over 10 cm of snow fell on the city which combined with frigid temperatures and high winds to create a nasty mix on the roads.

Ottawa Police however say the 51 collisions they saw between six in the morning and 4 in the afternoon weren’t too far off the norm.

Ottawa Police told the Sun it looked like even with the wintry weather, Ottawa drivers adapted well to the conditions, as they would normally see around 50 collisions per day.
