Chelsea mom fit to stand trial

A Chelsea mother has been deemed fit to stand trial in connection with the death of her 7-year-old daughter.

The Sun reporting 53-year-old Katherine Dufresne made an appearance in a Gatineau courtroom today, and was remanded in custody until February 28.

She was charged in October with the second degree murder of Sophie Fitzpatrick.

Her defence lawyer says she will be closely monitored while in custody as the risk of suicide is high.
