Chris Higgins cleared for Wednesday return

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Chris Higgins is ready to return to the Vancouver Canucks line-up after missing five games with complications from an infection. The Canucks forward skated again today with his teammates while forward Mike Duco was assigned to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
Higgins was skating on a line today with Max Lapierre and Jannik Hansen and will be back tomorrow for a home game with Colorado. Meanwhile, forward Dale Weise was forced to leave practice after a puck clipped him in the face and broke his nose. Weise was skating as an extra defenceman in drills and is trying to return from a recent foot injury. He still hopes to return for Saturday’s home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Defenceman Keith Ballard was not at practice today as he recovers from a case of whiplash which has been caused by a neck injury or a concussion. Doctors are looking into the cause of the problem for Ballard who has now missed three games.
The Canucks continue their homestand Wednesday night against the Colorado Avalanche.
