Ticket Surcharge for events at Lansdowne Park

OTTAWA – The city’s Transportation committee is hearing public delegations and will debate the issue of adding to the ticket cost of events at Lansdowne Park.

Committee chair, Marianne Wilkinson won’t call it a “surcharge”  but ” part of the ticket price”.

Wilkinson tells 1310News it’s part of the agreement the city has with Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group which is redeveloping the site.

Committee vice chair, Bob Monette supports the move and  tells 1310News, ” it’s not a burden on all the taxpayers of the city of Ottawa”.

While the potential size of the increase is not known, Monette says ” I don’t think they will put it up high enough to affect ticket prices”.
