Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s director of communications has quit after only seven months on the job.
Angelo Persichilli, 63, handed in his letter of resignation, Friday, saying the work load was just too much.
He said this is a “prestigious position that requires extremely intense effort and very long hours, which at a certain age, are not an option for a long period of time.”
“I would like to thank Prime Minister Stephen Harper for the opportunity to serve him during this exciting period. It has been an honour,” added Persichilli.
Persichilli is the sixth director of communications for Harper in six years.
