OTTAWA – One person has died and another is in serious condition after a crash between a motorcycle and a mini-van Saturday afternoon.
The Ottawa Citizen reports the 54-year-old motorcyclist was Mike Jefferies, a passionate biker and former member of the military, who loved to ride his bike. Jefferies was also a member of the Bikers’ Church of Vanier and attended service several times a week.
An off-duty paramedic arrived first on the scene and provided CPR to Jefferies, who had gone into cardiac arrest.
His 53 year-old wife Sandra was seriously injured.
Both were rushed to hospital, but the husband was pronounced dead.
