OTTAWA, ON – Shoppers burned off their Christmas dinners by looking for Boxing Day deals.
The parking lot was packed on Wednesday at St. Laurent Shopping Centre as shoppers searched for a space.
While inside, sale signs were up in store windows – which read 40 percent, 50 percent and even up to 75 percent off merchandise. Shoppers went in store after store and their hands were full of bags.
“I’m glad I came shopping,” Natalie told 1310News. “I saved so much. I got clothes, clothes and more clothes.”
While others said they received gift cards for Christmas and wanted to take advantage of the deals.
“I bought about $400 worth of clothes,” said Mark.
Meanwhile, it was not just the malls that were packed with shoppers on the lookout for Boxing Day sales.
The Best Buy on Coventry Road was bustling with those on the hunt for deals on electronics.
Cars were parked out front the store as people try to load in their new TVs.
Scott tells 1310news he has been saving up for this day for six months.
“I bought a small TV for my bedroom, a Playstation 3, DVD player and a few video games. I saved about $250.”
