Daylight shooting in Overbrook sends 1 to hospital in critical condition

Ottawa police are investigating after a shooting sent one person to hospital in life-threatening condition on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened in the 300 block of Prince Albert Street, in the Overbrook community. One person is in custody, police said.

Marc-Antoine Deschamps, public information officer with Ottawa paramedics, told CityNews in an email, that they got a call around 1:10 p.m.

When they arrived, paramedics found a man with gunshot wounds and attempted to stabilize his condition on scene and on the way to hospital. He is in life-threatening condition, Deschamps noted.

Police are asking people to avoid the area while officers conduct an investigation.
