OTTAWA – No one was injured in a warehouse fire Tuesday night.
Fire crews were called to the Certainteed Fiberglass plant at 3965 Belgreen Dr. shortly before 8 p.m.
When fire crews arrived, flames were seen coming from the center of the 3000 square ft. warehouse. It was then updated to a 3-alarm fire due to heat and humidity, as well as concern for the safety of firefighters.
Workers assisted in removing the bails of insulation, but due to heavy smoke and heat, it took firefighters several hours to extinguish the flames. Crews are continuing to monitor hot spots.
Fifteen people were forced from the building.
The fire is believed to have started in bails of insulation stacked 50ft x 50ft and 25 ft. in height. The investigation continues.
