Heat advisory continues for Ottawa

OTTAWA – A heat advisory issued by Ottawa Public Health Thursday continues.
The humidex Friday was 39 degrees Celsius, and its forecast to remain in the high 30’s right through the weekend into next week.
Ottawa Public Health recommends you drink plenty of water and avoid heavy outdoor activity during heat advisories, as well as spending at least two hours per day in an air-conditioned room.

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit also issued a Heat Alert Thursday, for the areas it covers around the capital. That advisory is still in place for the time being.
