Fire damages downtown rowhouse complex

Three homes in a row house complex were damaged in a fire on Argyle Avenue Saturday night.
Ottawa Fire says it started on the balcony of unit 51 and spread between the two layers of brick to unit 53, causing a combined $400-thousand worth of fire damages in two units and $50-thousand of mostly smoke related damage to the third unit.
Three families – 12 people in total, from three units – are now homeless as a result of the blaze.
One person suffered minor burns but did not require a trip to the hospital.
All area roads re-opened around 9:30 p.m.
