August is the deadliest month to drive, according to the American Automobile Association.
AAA’s Tammy Gobert says it is because there are extra motorists on the highways trying to squeeze in last-minute road trips before the new school year.
“We’re really urging motorists to please take their time — budget for that traffic time,” she said.
She recommends packing some extra things for the family such as games for children.
“Most importantly, pack your patience,” she added.
