OTTAWA – Eight new fugitives have been added to the Canada Border Services Agency’s wanted list, in a push to try and find criminals hiding in our country.
Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney made the announcement at the Ottawa airport on Thursday morning.
Blaney says all eight men, who have been convicted of crimes ranging from sexual assault to assault with a weapon, are inadmissible to Canada.
“Our government has no tolerance for those who hide in this country illegally and abuse the generosity of … our immigration system.”
Blaney took the opportunity to tout the success of the CBSA’s program, noting that almost 40 per cent of the criminals who appear on the list are apprehended.
The CBSA has posted more information about the fugitives on its list.
