Trial continues for man accused in Swan murder

OTTAWA – The Toronto man who admits to firing the gun that killed Barrhaven’s Michael Swan has testified it was an accident.

Kristopher McLellan, 23, admitted to breaking into the house Swan rented on Moodie Drive and holding him at gunpoint in February 2010.

McLellan told the court he was distracted by two dogs that were on a couch, and Swan moved causing the gun to go off. He also admitted that the plan to rob Swan of drugs and money was stupid.

Three others also face first degree murder charges in the case.
