Man in serious condition following Byward Market shooting, not cooperating with police

OTTAWA – A 24-year-old man is in serious condition in hospital after a downtown shooting early Sunday morning.

Paramedics were called to George Street just after 2:30 a.m., where they found a man who had been shot twice outside a bar.

The man was shot once in the upper thigh of each leg; his injuries are considered non-life threatening.

No arrests have been made and the victim has refused to cooperate with police.

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating and are asking anyone with information to contact them. It’s the unit’s 16th call to a shooting in Ottawa this year.
