Lisa MacLeod hints at run for Ontario PC leadership

Is Progressive Conservative MPP Lisa MacLeod planning a run for party leadership?
In a Toronto Star editorial Tuesday morning, MacLeod said her party needs fresh leadership and hinted that she could be the person for the job.
The Nepean-Carleton MPP says the PC party needs a new direction and a leader that understands urban, suburban and rural concerns.
MacLeod follows that by writing, “in my own riding, I represent new immigrant communities, expanding suburbs and a large rural area. I also take the lead on the urban issues.”
MacLeod is considered a strong contender for party leader but won’t reveal if she’s interested in the job.
“I think it’s too early to tell. The rules and procedures for the race haven’t been set yet,” MacLeod tells 1310News. “I’m simply saying as a senior member of the Ontario PC Caucus…that we need to start thinking about these very important issues.”
Tim Hudak stepped down after the June 12 provincial election.
