Toronto Mayor Rob Ford returns to work Monday

TORONTO – Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is expected to return to city hall on Monday after spending two months in a facility for alcohol abuse.
According to a letter the mayor sent to the city clerk’s office on June 17, Ford will return to city hall “in the later portion of the afternoon.”
Ford asked the clerk to change back his office locks by 1 p.m. He plans to hold a news conference at 3:30 p.m.
Ford took a leave of absence on April 30 to attend a rehab facility.
Last November, Ford admitted to trying the crack while in one of his “drunken stupors” and to using drugs while in office. That led council to strip him of most of his mayoral duties.
Though Ford then publicly swore off alcohol, he was later forced to admit to drinking after another videotaped incident in which he used Jamaican swear words and slagged Toronto’s chief of police.
