Autopsy expected after body pulled from Rideau River

OTTAWA — An autopsy is expected Wednesday on a woman pulled from the Rideau River.

A passerby made the discovery Tuesday just before 11 a.m. between Vincent Massey Park and Carleton University.

Ottawa police have not identified the woman or provided her approximate age.

“The coroner has to give us the actual reference to what injuries occurred at what time,” said Cst. Chuck Benoit. “The investigators are working closely with the coroner to get all these details.”

Once the body is identified police will notify next of kin.
