OTTAWA – Police have charged a local pharmacy owner with robbing his own Rideau Street store.
Waseem Shaheen, 44, was charged following the October 2014 robbery of his IDA pharmacy, in which a large quantity of prescription drugs were stolen.
However, according to police, the information Shaheen provided about the robbery was questionable.
Shaheen is due in court June 25.
The Ontario College of Pharmacists is conducting it’s own investigation.
