Renovations begin at NAC

OTTAWA — Renovations to transform the National Arts Centre ahead of Canada Day 2017 officially began Tuesday.

The renovations will eventually convert the 46-year-old building’s concrete exterior into glass.

The interior will also be heavily modified.

Work has begun on the second floor and main foyer.

Contractors will also be reinforcing columns on the second and third levels of the parkade.

Evening and weekend shows will go ahead as planned.

Some Matinees will be canceled.

Delays will be minimal.
