Collisions spike on Friday in Ottawa

OTTAWA – There are more car crashes on Friday in Ottawa than any other day of the week.

According to Postmedia, recently released data shows Friday as the top day for collisions in the city between 2010 and 2014, with the next highest being Thursday.

Police admit, it’s not known why there is a spike, but there is speculation that drivers are tired and anxious to get home at the end of the work week.

According to Transport Canada, it’s a national trend; the number of crashes spikes on Fridays across the country.
