Ottawa man charged after child pornography found on iPod

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit has charged an Ottawa man following an investigation into child pornography.

It stems from an investigation that started in November, 2015, when the High Risk Offender Management (HROM) Unit received information that a registered sex offender was in possession of child pornography, and that it was stored on an iPod.

A search warrant was obtained for the electronic device, and it was forensically examined — revealing 76 images of prepubescent child pornography.

Geoffrey Bell, 25, has been charged with:

* 3 x Possession of Child Pornography, contrary to s. 163.1(4) of the CCC
* 1 x Accessing Child Pornography, contrary to s. 163.1(4.1) of the CCC
* 1 x Breach of Probation Order, contrary to s. 733.1(1) of the CCC

He is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on February 6th.
