Heavy rain hits nation’s capital; rainfall warning in effect

OTTAWA – It’s been a very hot, dry summer in Ottawa and now some much needed rain is on the way.
A rainfall warning has been issued for the nation’s capital, with anywhere from 40 to 60 mm of rain likely.
According to 1310 NEWS meteorologist Jill Taylor, the rain will start around lunchtime, and continue through the evening before tapering off overnight.
A few thunderstorms are also expected.
