Second pedestrian struck in Ottawa in 24 hours

OTTAWA — A 26-year-old woman is in hospital with a serious head injury after being struck by a vehicle in the Glebe early Sunday morning.

Paramedics said the woman was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being hit on Bank Street near Fifth Avenue just before 12:30 a.m.

Bank St between Thornton Avenue and Clarey Avenue was closed for several hours but reopened around 7 a.m.

This is the second pedestrian hit in the span of a day.

A 20-year-old man was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on King Edward Avenue at Laurier Avenue just after midnight Saturday.
