Ottawa-Vanier by-election set for April 3rd

OTTAWA–April 3rd, 2017.
That’s the date for the federal by-election to fill the vacant seat in the riding of Ottawa-Vanier.
The PMO’s office announcing the date Sunday.
The seat has been vacant since the passing last year of Mauril Belanger: The long-time representative was first elected to the seat in a 1995 by-election.
Belanger, 61 passed late last summer after a brief battle with ALS.
Mona Fortier will represent the Grits, outduelling seven other candidates in a nomination vote earlier this month.
Adrian Papara earned the Conservative nomination late last week.
Emilie Taman is the NDP candidate.
Nirmala Dookeran carries the Green Party banner.
