Public meeting being held to address recent overdoses

OTTAWA – A public meeting is being held to address the recent surge of overdose deaths in Ottawa, as well as the availability of opioids in the city.
A press release issued by the office of Kanata-South Councillor Allan Hubley states that opioids, especially fentanyl, are becoming more common in the community every day.
“It is time to come together as a community to discuss the issue, educate ourselves and help those dealing with the challenge of keeping their kids safe even when we are not with them.”
The meeting, which is open to anyone, is taking place Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Kanata Recreation Centre at 100 Charlie Rogers Place.
Experts from the Ottawa Police Service, Ottawa Public Health, Ottawa Paramedics and the Youth Services Bureau will be in attendance.
