Massive west end fire deemed accidental

OTTAWA – The investigation continues into what caused a massive fire in the west end Sunday.
The fire, which affected 32 units of a row house complex at 34 Northview Road, has been deemed accidental.
Investigators know the fire started on the second floor balcony of unit 5, but the exact cause has not been pinpointed.
The fire caused between $3 and $3.5 million in damages, and left up to 70 people homeless.
There were no reports of serious injuries.
