BROCKVILLE, Ont. – The Upper Canada District School Board is holding a special meeting in Brockville Thursday to discuss school closures.
The board is set to review final recommendations on school closures, consolidations and boundaries.
A report recommends the closure of five school closures by the end of the 2016-17 school year, and another three school closures by the end of the 2017-18 school year.
Another four school closures are recommended after that time period, subject to the board receiving provincial funding for building new schools or for renovating existing school facilities.
The report will also give recommendations for school capital projects, the implementation of English/immersion dual track programs and recommendations for boundary adjustments.
