Man who murdered CJOH sportscaster dies of heart attack

OTTAWA – The man who killed CJOH Sportscaster Brian Smith has died.
Jeffrey Arenburg, 60, has died of a heart attack, according to Postmedia.
Brian Smith was leaving work the evening of August 1, 1995, when Arenburg shot him in the CJOH parking lot on Merivale Road.
Arenburg was determined not criminally responsible because he had schizophrenia.
He spent six years in a psychiatric institution before he was set free.
