OTTAWA — A giant mural of former Ottawa 67’s head coach Brian Kilrea can now be seen on the walls inside The Arena at TD Place.
Part of the Brian Kilrea Legacy Wall has been uncovered between Gate 2 and 3.
It is in conjunction with the club’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Kilrea, also known as “Killer,” played a role in all five decades of 67’s hockey.
The Hockey Hall of Famer is the winningest coach in CHL history, and has two Memorial Cup titles to his name.
The second half of the Brian Kilrea Legacy Wall will be unveilled at Ottawa’s home opener this Sunday night against Erie.
The 67’s will also be honouring defenceman Brian Campbell this season, by retiring his number 44.
He played four seasons with Ottawa and was a key part of the team’s 1999 Memorial Cup-winning squad.
