Tough home loss stinging for Redblacks

OTTAWA — Another close loss for the Ottawa Redblacks on home turf has the team in a hole, as it continues to fight for first place in the CFL’s Eastern Conference.
After going up 17-0 on the Saskatchewan Roughriders at TD Place Friday night, not allowing a single point through the entire first half, it all fell apart in the fourth quarter.
“We can be miserable tonight, which I know I will be,” says Head Coach Rick Campbell.
An 11-point fourth quarter from the Roughriders, including a punt single, or rouge, took the game from the Redblacks.
Third string quarterback Ryan Lindley got the start at quarterback for Ottawa again last night, due to injuries.
“I always kind of take [the loss] on myself,” he explains.
“I missed a lot more throws than I made in the first half — just got to be more consistent.”
Lindley threw the first touchdown pass of his CFL career and went 17 for 31.
The Redblacks now fall to 5-9-1 on the season, one point back of Toronto in the standings, who has two games in hand.
