Charges could be laid in Hull Hospital attack

GATINEAU – An elderly man could face charges in connection to threats made against staff at the Hull Hospital.

Around 6:30 a.m. Friday, staff reported a 71-year-old man threatening staff and patients with a syringe on the seventh floor.

A police officer was already in the building on another matter when the call came for help.

Two people suffered minor injuries before the officer managed to subdue the man with a stun gun, while a third person went into shock.

The man was arrested on scene, but quickly released to undergo medical treatment.
